As of 1996 JakadofskyJetEngines has been producing smaller jet engines for UAVs and R/C models and in 2000 we developed a turboshaft version that integrates a small gearbox inside the engine. The gearbox is completely maintenance-free providing the most reliable direct drive for small helicopters. The introduction of turbine power to UAVs and R/C models is a breakthrough in reliability and power available. A patent was granted for this turbine engine and its entire system in 2002.
JakadofskyJetEngines is specialised in fast prototyping and producing turbine wheels. Using latest 5-axis HSC technologies, we are able to mill one piece turbine and compressor wheels from exotic materials like aircraft aluminum, titan and high temperature super-alloy.

Jakadofsky is setting a new milestone with the JetCopter Vision-II UAV
Equipped with a downward-looking NovaSol hyperspectral imaging system, our new autonomous JetCopter Vision-II UAV served as a slow low-flying stable platform, operating at less than 2,000 feet above sea level with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) in the National Airspace System.
Flight operations for the seagrass site were conducted along the shoreline of Sugarloaf Key, while flight ops for the coral reef site were made from a 40-foot barge positioned offshore in the protected Cheeca Rocks marine sanctuary. Twelve historic morning and afternoon takeoff and landing sequences were conducted at these two sites acquiring more than 500 gigabytes of high resolution hyperspectral data.
Led by Principal Investigator Dr. Stanley Herwitz (Director of the UAV Collaborative), the NASA Seagrass/Coral Reef UAV Project involved testing the use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology to research changes in seagrass and coral reef biomes. The water-based and airborne data acquisition campaign conducted in the Florida Keys in May 2013 featured the UAV Company “XTREME Aerial Concepts” and a team of renowned co-investigators from varied institutions specializing in coastal biology, marine remote sensing and optical oceanography. The institutions included the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, the University of South Florida, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
